Alcohol & Beverage  Policies

Alcohol & Beverage rules vary greatly among the cruise lines. Luxury lines often include open bars, and allow you to bring whatever you like onboard. Major lines will charge for cocktails, beer wine and sodas to your onboard account and limit or completely prohibit you from bringing anything onboard.  Know the rules before you get to the pier!

Azamara Club Cruises

Aboard Azamara Club Cruises, many alcoholic beverages such as standard cocktails, liquors, international beers, and red and white wines by the glass, are included in the cruise fare.  Water, coffee, hot tea, juices and soft drinks are also available for no fee.  Complimentary cocktails are not available for room service.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: Liquor can be brought onboard and consumed in passenger cabins for no fee; however, there is a $10 corkage fee in any of Azamara’s bars or restaurants.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: Passengers may bring an unlimited amount of wine onboard, but if consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, there is a $10 corkage fee per bottle.

– Purchasing liquor in port: Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports will be retained by the cruise line ship and delivered to passengers’ cabins on the last day of the sailing.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from Azamara’s onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to passenger cabins on the sailing’s last day.

Drinking age is 21 aboard all Azamara ships.

 

Carnival  

Carnival charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas. Varying beverage packages are available based on your individual cruise and will be offered on-line by the Cruise line once your cruise is booked and confirmed.  No fee self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only.  Each passenger of drinking age may bring one bottle of wine or Champagne (750ml) onboard in their carry-on luggage. Corkage fees are $10 in the dining room and $14 in the steakhouses.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? On embarkation day. Each passenger may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on board and only in their carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Drinking age is 21 aboard all Carnival Ships

 

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas. Varying beverage packages are available based on your individual cruise and will be offered on-line by the Cruise line once your cruise is booked and confirmed.  No fee self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only, two bottles of wine or Champagne are permitted per stateroom. When consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, there’s a corkage fee of $25 per bottle. Wine purchased from the selection of bon voyage gifts is not subject to a corkage fee.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? Passengers are not permitted to being Bottled water or soft drinks aboard the ship.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Drinking age is 21 aboard all Celebrity Ships.

 

Costa Cruise Line

Costa Cruise Line charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas.  No charge self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: All wine and Champagne brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? Passengers are not permitted to being Bottled water or soft drinks aboard the ship.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

Drinking age aboard Costa ships is 21.

 

Cunard Line 

Cunard charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas.  No fee self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only, each passenger of drinking age  may bring one bottle of wine or Champagne any size onboard in their carry-on luggage. This bottle is only subject to a corkage fee if it consumed in a public area of the ship.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? ? On embarkation day, each passenger may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on board and only in their carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less.

Crystal Cruises

Crystal has an all-inclusive policy and offers complimentary fine wines, premium spirits and beer throughout the ship, open bar service in all lounges. Water, coffee, hot tea, juices and soft drinks are also available complimentary.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: Crystal allows you to bring liquor onboard however it  must be consumed in cabins only, not in public spaces.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: Crystal allows you to bring wine and Champagne onboard with no corkage fee. Wine may be consumed in all restaurants.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It can be brought onboard and consumed in passenger cabins only.

Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: Duty-free liquor that is bought onboard will be delivered to passengers on the last day of the cruise, However, for liquor purchased at full price for consumption during the cruise, there are no restrictions on where it is consumed.

Drinking age is 21 aboard all Crystal Ships.

 

Disney Cruise Line 

Disney charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas. No fee self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

 – Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage. Passengers (21 years of age and older) may bring onboard or cans of beer per person for in cabin consumption only.  The alcohol must be hand-carried in a day bag and/or carry-on luggage. Carry-on luggage dimensions cannot exceed 22 inches wide, 14 inches high and 9 inches deep.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: Passengers (21 years of age and older) may bring onboard one bottle of wine or Champagne person for in cabin consumption. A $20 corkage fee will be charged for bringing your own wine or Champagne in the main dining room. These items may not be consumed in any other public area of the ship.  Alcohol must be hand-carried in a day bag and/or carry-on luggage. Carry-on luggage dimensions cannot exceed 22 inches wide, 14 inches high and 9 inches deep.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? ? Passengers are not permitted to being Bottled water or soft drinks aboard the ship.

– Purchasing liquor in port: Liquor purchased at a port of call can be brought onboard and consumed in the cabin.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shops: Liquor purchased at the duty-free shop onboard is held until the last night of the cruise.

Drinking age aboard Disney Cruise ships is 21.
Holland America Line

 Holland America charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas.  No charge self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only, each passenger of drinking age  may bring one bottle of wine or Champagne (no larger than 750ml) onboard in their carry-on luggage. This bottle is only subject to a corkage fee if it consumed in a public area of the ship. Additional wine or Champagne bottles brought on in carry-on luggage will incur a corkage fee of $18 a bottle, regardless of where they will be consumed.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard?  Holland America Line does not limit bringing bottled water or soda on board at either embarkation or ports of call.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained until the last day of the cruise. Wine and Champagne bought in ports may be brought onboard for a corkage fee of $18, or passengers can have the Purchased wine and Champagne stored onboard the ship and returned on the last evening of the cruise for no charge.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Drinking age is 21 aboard all Holland America Ships

 

MSC Cruise Line

 MSC charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas.  No charge self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: All wine and Champagne brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? ? Passengers are not permitted to being Bottled water or soft drinks aboard the ship.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

Drinking age aboard MSC ships is 21 years old.

 

Norwegian Cruise Line

 NCL charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas. Varying beverage packages are available based on your individual cruise and will be offered on-line by the Cruise line once your cruise is booked and confirmed.  No fee self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea, lemonade and flavored water during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only and you will have to pay a corkage fee for all wine that is brought onboard. Fees are $15 for 750ml bottles, $20 for 1,000ml and $30 for 1,500ml. Boxed wine is not allowed.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? ? On embarkation day, each passenger may bring up to one case ( 24 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less).of non-alcoholic beverages on board.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

– Drinking age is 21 aboard all NCL Ships however a parental waiver can be signed for passengers 18 and over when the ship is sailing in European waters.

 

Oceania Cruises

 Oceania charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages. Varying beverage packages are available based on your individual cruise and will be offered on-line by the Cruise line once your cruise is booked and confirmed.   No charge self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and stored until the end of the voyage.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: Passengers may bring a maximum of three bottles of wine or Champagne onboard per cabin for the duration of a cruise (this includes embarkation and purchasing on shore during a port call). A corkage fee of $25 applies if wine is consumed in a public area or dining room.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? Yes, however sodas are complimentary on Oceania and your room steward will keep the in suite refrigerator stocked with your request.

– Purchasing liquor in port: Wine bought ashore is allowed so long as it does not exceed the three bottles per cabin maximum. A corkage fee of $25 applies if wine is consumed in a public area or dining room. Passengers can bring liquor or beer onboard as well, but it will be held until the end of the cruise.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: Liquor is not sold in the onboard shops..

– Drinking age is 21 aboard all Oceania Ships..
Princess Cruises

Princess charges your onboard account per drink for Alcoholic Beverages and sodas. Varying beverage packages are available based on your individual cruise and will be offered on-line by the Cruise line once your cruise is booked and confirmed.  No charge, self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and disposed of.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only each passenger of drinking age can bring one bottle of wine or Champagne (no larger than 750 ml) per voyage. When brought to restaurants, a $15 corkage fee applies. Bringing additional wine or Champagne bottles aboard is allowed, but each bottle will incur a $15 corkage fee, regardless of where they are intended to be consumed.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? ? On embarkation day, each passenger may bring up to one case ( 24 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less).of non-alcoholic beverages on board.

Varying beverage packages are available based on your individual cruise and will be offered on-line by the Cruise line once your cruise is booked and confirmed.  No fee self-serve beverage dispensers in the lido café have water, coffee and hot tea 24 hours a day, Juices in the morning and Ice tea and lemonade during the afternoon and evening. Passengers booked in a Grand Suite or higher suite category have nightly access to a self-service, no-fee bar, Diamond members have access to a similar lounge, called the Diamond Lounge.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: All liquor and beer brought onboard will be confiscated and disposed of.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: During embarkation only, Passengers can bring onboard a maximum of two bottles of wine per cabin. Bottles must be 750ml each or smaller. Passengers who want to drink their wine in public spaces as in bars or restaurants must pay a $25 corkage fee per bottle.

Can I bring bottled water or soft drinks onboard? Passengers are not permitted to being Bottled water or soft drinks aboard the ship.

– Purchasing liquor in port: It will be retained by the cruise line until the last night of the cruise.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

 Aboard Regent Seven Seas ships alcoholic beverages, including fine wines and premium spirits, are included in the cruise fare. The line does, however, have a connoisseur’s list of ultra-premium wines and liquors at extra cost.

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: no limitations; however, each guest gets two bottles of spirits in his/her in-room bar as part of the cruise fare (more in Penthouse level and above). Wine and spirits are complimentary with dinner.

– Can I bring wine or Champagne onboard: You may bring your own wine onboard, however, Regent has a significant selection of wines included in the cruise fare.

– Purchasing liquor in port: Passengers are allowed to bring it into their suites for consumption.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: Liquor is not sold in the shops onboard.

Drinking age aboard Regent Seven Seas ships is 21.

 

Seabourn

Aboard Seabourn ships alcoholic beverages, including fine wines and premium spirits, are included in the cruise fare. Rare or ultra-premium bottles of wine are available for an extra fee.

Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: no limitations; however each Seabourn Suite will have a complimentary bar stocked with the passenger’s pre-made selections.

– Can I Bring wine or Champagne onboard: No limitations,

Purchasing liquor in port: No Limitations.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: Seabourn has a pre-purchase program that allows passengers to purchase selections of up to six bottles of wine in advance.

Drinking age aboard Seabourn ships is 21.

 

Silversea Cruises

 Aboard Silversea ships all alcoholic beverages, including fine wines and premium spirits, are included in the cruise fare.

 

– Can I bring liquor onboard at embarkation: no limitations.

– Can I Bring wine or Champagne onboard: No limitations.

Purchasing liquor in port: No Limitations.

– Purchasing liquor in ships’ duty-free shop: Alcohol is not sold in the shops onboard.

Drinking age aboard Silversea ships is 21.
