Cruises From Houston
Cruises out of Houston, Texas now run all through the Winter months. Both Norwegian cruise lines and Princess Cruises have regular itineraries coming out of Houston to Cozumel and the Western Caribbean as well as longer cruises through the Panama Canal. There are usually some repositioning cruises around April time when Princess move their ships to Europe for the summer months.
Many of the cruises from Houston visit, Cozumel, Roatan in Honduras and Belize City, Belize. A more recent addition to the itineraries is Majahual in Costa Maya, Mexico.
The Bay Islands of Honduras offer a very different world from that of mainland Honduras. Of the three islands, the largest, and most developed for tourism is Roatan. Roatan is a long island, measuring almost 40 miles in length and with a total landmass of 49 Square miles. The island has a mountainous backbone and is totally surrounded by coral reefs, offering superb diving as well as excellent fishing.
Belize City is your gateway to mystic Maya Sites (only found in Central America), adventurous caves, rivers, unique flora, fauna and relaxing breathtaking beaches, but it is also filled with history. Belize City has the only manual swing bridge in the world which is still being swung daily. The oldest Anglican Cathedral Church in Central America, St. John’s Cathedral, was built in 1812 from bricks brought as ballast from European sailing ships.
Majahual has grown from a small fishing village and is located in the Yucatan Peninsular close to the borders of Belize. Pristine Beaches and a relaxed atmosphere make this an attractive alternative to the bustling streets of Cancun.
Cruises from Houston offer a great vacation with a taste of world history.
